Cambodia Gambling Halls

by Shaniya on Mar.07, 2017, under Casino

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just over the border from nearby Thailand, in which gambling den betting is against the law. Eight gambling halls are established in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling dens is in an excellent area, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing income gained from the casinos ranges from $7.5 million to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; still, investment sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 0900 to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are allegedly necessary to pass, there are ways around this, as is true of many borders.

The original Cambodia gambling dens opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau gambling den, contains one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty tables. The Naga casino never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of chemin de fer, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of 150 one armed bandits and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains 300 one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the 8 casinos in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of a comprehensive vacation and hotel compound that contains many luxuries on top of the gambling den, which has ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty slots and eighty eight table games.
